Neitzel would settle for 2nd ahead of a hard charging Kris Spitz. Allstar Performance Heat Race 2 would see Jeremy Schultz take the lead. Thiel managed to build a six car length lead before Nimee secured the runner-up spot and he quickly closed the gap on Thiel. The series now heads to the Sheboygan County Fairpark on Saturday night for the annual running of the Frank Filskov Memorial race. Add to that list Phillip Mock, who scored wins in a pair of local 410 shows at Wilmot Raceway, and you have a united group of racers ready to win for the IRA banner.
The event will include MSA, WI wing LESS, and WIMS in their championship full point finales too. Scotty Thiel would challenge Schultz multiple times for the lead but couldn't find a line around the King of the Sherm Nation. With two laps to go Thiel got into the cushion in turn four allowing Nimee to work underneath, and the battle was on. The main event will be contested at 27 laps in honor of Filskov. Todd Daun, the 2014 Wilmot Raceway champ knows the third-mile clay oval as well as anyone on hand and is another driver due for a victory within the IRA ranks.
